Terms of Use
Using this website
Effective 24 October 2026. Last updated 25 October 2026. These Terms of Use describe the conditions for using ieeecitationgenerator.live and its academic citation generators, formatting utilities, words-to-pages calculator, guides, and downloadable outputs. By using these features, you agree to use them responsibly and to review the information that you enter and receive.
The website currently provides its tools without an account, subscription charge, or payment checkout. These terms concern the features actually offered here; they do not create a paid editing service, institutional approval service, or promise that an assignment will receive a particular grade. If you have a question, email Contact@ieeecitationgenerator.live.
Purpose and scope of the tools
The tools help organize bibliographic details, format supported citation patterns, prepare an MLA first-page document, and estimate essay length. They are aids to your research and writing process. They do not inspect whether you read a source, evaluate an argument’s evidence, or determine the requirements of your school, instructor, publisher, or professional organization.
Choose the appropriate style and source type before generating a result. A journal article, report, book chapter, and ordinary webpage can require different information even when all are available online. Specialized materials and unusual editorial requirements may need additional guidance beyond the options provided by a form.
Your responsibility to verify citations
Citation output depends on the details you enter and the publication metadata you import. Compare author names, dates, titles, editions, page ranges, identifiers, and source types with the actual publication. Imported records can be incomplete, incorrectly capitalized, or associated with a different edition. Editable fields allow you to correct those details.
Review punctuation, title treatment, ordering, and locators against the required style and assignment instructions. A generated reference does not guarantee acceptance by a university, journal, instructor, or citation-style organization. In particular, changing a bibliography’s IEEE order does not update reference numbers already pasted into another document. Keep your manuscript and final reference list consistent.
Academic integrity and lawful use
Credit the sources you actually consulted, distinguish quotations from paraphrases, and use genuine page numbers or other valid locators. Do not invent an author, publication date, research finding, or source merely to fill an empty field. A plausible-looking citation cannot establish that a publication exists or supports the statement beside it.
You remain responsible for following your institution’s rules concerning academic integrity and AI assistance. A citation does not authorize copying protected material or make prohibited assistance acceptable. Obtain any permission needed for the material you use and avoid submitting another person’s work as your own. The website cannot make those decisions for you.
Third-party searches and external resources
Optional DOI and title searches use Crossref, and ISBN searches use Open Library. These independent services can change their records, limit requests, or become unavailable. Their terms and privacy practices govern their own systems. Manual source entry remains an alternative when a provider cannot return usable information.
Links to style guidance, research articles, libraries, or other resources are provided for reference. We do not control their continued availability or guarantee every statement they contain. Check the destination and the publication details before relying on a source. Do not use the website to evade a provider’s restrictions or overwhelm public metadata services.
Saved work, downloads, and privacy
APA and IEEE drafts and references are stored in the current browser rather than synchronized to a user account. Browser settings, private sessions, device changes, clearing site data, or storage failures can affect availability. Keep your own exports of important work. There is no application account-recovery process or server backup from which we can restore a lost bibliography.
Downloaded Word, plain-text, and reference files should be inspected in the program where you will submit or edit them. Clipboard features depend on browser permissions and device behavior. Handle downloaded or copied information carefully on shared computers. Our Privacy Policy explains local processing, optional searches, hosting requests, and email correspondence.
Calculator estimates and document formatting
The APA and MLA words-to-pages calculator provides a planning estimate based on a stated words-per-page model and the settings you select. It does not typeset the actual words in your essay. Headings, paragraph breaks, tables, quotations, footnotes, and word-processor font metrics can change the final document’s pagination.
APA and MLA presets provide starting settings rather than certify that a complete paper meets every style requirement. Add known separate pages yourself and check the final document before submission. Likewise, the MLA header formatter produces a document starter; it does not automatically reformat an existing essay. Verify fields and page numbering after opening an exported file.
Content, licenses, and acceptable access
Published guides explain common citation and formatting situations. Examples identified as hypothetical are demonstrations, not sources to present as evidence. Links and brief excerpts should retain clear attribution. Respect the rights attached to website text, third-party publications, fonts, citation styles, and software components; using a tool does not transfer ownership of those materials.
Open-source components and citation resources retain their applicable licenses and notices. Do not remove attribution that a relevant license requires. Do not attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, disrupt normal operation, or misuse the service to infringe another person’s rights. These conditions do not prevent ordinary research, accessibility use, or responsible reporting of a problem.
Availability, independence, and limitations
Features are provided as available. Compatibility, network conditions, browser permissions, and outside services can affect performance. We may correct errors or update interfaces and supported features. We do not promise uninterrupted access, perfect formatting for every unusual source, recovery of cleared records, or identical document layout across all editors.
This is an independent website, not an official service of APA, MLA, or IEEE. Style and organization names identify the conventions discussed and supported; they do not imply sponsorship or endorsement. Any limitations in these terms apply only where permitted by applicable law and do not remove rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Updates and contact
Review the current terms when using a new or changed feature. Updates will be reflected in the date shown above. A clarification in a published guide does not replace your assignment instructions, and a tool update does not automatically revise work you previously exported.
For feedback, a formatting issue, or a question about these terms, use the Contact page or email Contact@ieeecitationgenerator.live. Include the affected tool and enough public source information to explain the issue, while avoiding confidential research or personal records. We welcome specific, reproducible reports, but do not promise individual academic advice or a fixed response time.
