Privacy Policy

About this privacy policy

Effective 24 October 2026. Last updated 25 October 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how ieeecitationgenerator.live handles information when you use its citation generators, formatting tools, words-to-pages calculator, and published guides. It describes the website’s current application features, the choices available in your browser, and the separate services involved in delivering pages or looking up public publication records.

You can use the tools without creating an account or providing an email address. The application has no user-profile database, payment form, subscription checkout, or marketing signup. Contact information becomes relevant if you choose to email us. Questions about this policy can be sent to Contact@ieeecitationgenerator.live.

Information entered into the tools

Manual citation details are formatted in your browser. Depending on the tool, those details can include author names, publication titles, dates, publishers, URLs, page numbers, and other source information. The MLA header formatter also accepts the student, instructor, course, date, and title details needed for its document preview.

The words-to-pages calculator processes your word count and formatting settings locally. It does not upload a manuscript or require the text of your essay. Entering information for manual formatting does not, by itself, send those entries to an application citation server. Optional publication searches are a separate feature described below.

Browser storage and saved references

The APA and IEEE generators save draft source records and bibliography information in localStorage associated with this website. This allows the same browser to restore saved work when you return. Local storage is not an online account, cloud backup, or synchronization service. Other devices and browser profiles do not automatically receive those references.

Saved records can remain until you remove them through the tool or clear this website’s browser data. A private session, browser restriction, storage error, or device cleanup may prevent saving or erase existing records. On a shared computer, consider who can access the browser profile. Export important work before clearing data or switching devices.

Optional publication metadata searches

When you submit a DOI or publication-title lookup, the browser sends that query directly to Crossref. When you submit an ISBN lookup, it sends the identifier directly to Open Library. Like other internet requests, those services can receive ordinary connection information, including an IP address and browser request details, alongside the search value.

These providers operate independently and apply their own policies. You can use manual entry instead of making a lookup. Search only for public bibliographic information; do not place private notes, confidential study details, or an unpublished manuscript inside a search query. Website-URL entry does not automatically scrape arbitrary webpages or forward their contents through our server.

Website delivery, logs, and tracking

Opening a page requires a connection to the service hosting this website. A hosting provider or delivery network may process technical information such as the requested URL, time, IP address, browser information, response status, and security events. These requests are distinct from the manual source details processed inside the citation forms.

The application does not include advertising trackers, audience analytics scripts, marketing cookies, or account-session cookies. Fonts are served as website files rather than requested from an external font service. This does not mean that hosting, network, browser, or email infrastructure generates no logs. The application code does not establish the retention schedules of those independent systems.

Downloads and clipboard use

Reference exports and MLA document downloads are generated through the browser and saved where you choose. The website does not automatically upload those files to an application document library. If you later open them in a cloud editor, email them, or save them to a synchronized folder, that separate service’s handling applies.

Copy controls place the selected result on your clipboard when the browser permits it. Your operating system, browser extensions, clipboard-history feature, or device synchronization may keep copied text separately. Delete downloaded files or clipboard history through the relevant device controls when they are no longer needed.

Email and support correspondence

If you email Contact@ieeecitationgenerator.live, your email service and the receiving email service process the message. Your address, subject, attachments, and whatever details you include may be available for responding to the request and understanding the issue. Sending an email is separate from using a local citation tool.

Include only the information needed to explain your question. For a formatting report, public source metadata and the name of the affected tool are usually enough. Avoid passwords, financial information, private student records, and confidential documents. The website does not provide a secure document-submission portal or a promised support-response deadline.

External links and your choices

Guides and tools may link to style authorities, libraries, publishers, metadata providers, or other research websites. Following a link opens a separate resource whose privacy practices we do not control. A source link identifies supporting material; it does not extend this website’s local-processing approach to the destination.

You can avoid optional lookups, enter source details manually, remove saved references, clear website storage, and decide whether to download or copy an output. Browser settings control storage and clipboard permissions. Disabling JavaScript limits interactive features, although published guidance remains available as page content.

Security, requests, and policy updates

Keeping manual formatting on your device reduces the need to transmit research details, but it cannot guarantee the security of your browser, computer, email account, or network. Use a trusted device and take care with extensions and shared sessions. Do not assume that a citation field is suitable for storing sensitive personal information.

For questions about information you emailed us, contact our support address and explain the relevant request without sending additional sensitive material. Browser-local records must be managed on the browser that holds them; we cannot recover them from a server backup. Material changes to website features or information handling may require a revised policy. The update date above identifies this version. See our Contact page and Terms of Use for related information.
